After a home-heavy November schedule this upcoming season for the Boston Bruins, the month of December is more of a balanced schedule for second-year head coach Marco Sturm. Boston will carry over the home-heavy slate into December with a special evening on tap to open the month. With that said, let's break down the month of December for the Black and Gold.

- Dec. 1: vs. Colorado Avalanche, 7:30 p.m.
- Dec. 5: vs. Detroit Red Wings, 1 p.m.
- Dec. 8: at Florida Panthers, 7 p.m.
- Dec. 10: at Tampa Bay Lightning, 7 p.m.
- Dec. 12: vs. New Jersey Devils, 1 p.m.
- Dec. 13: at Carolina Hurricanes, 1 p.m.
- Dec. 15: vs. Florida Panthers, 7 p.m.
- Dec. 17: vs. St. Louis Blues, 7 p.m.
- Dec. 19: at New Jersey Devils, 12 p.m.
- Dec. 20: vs. Philadelphia Flyers, 1 p.m.
- Dec. 22: at New York Islanders, 7 p.m.
- Dec. 26: vs. New York Islanders, 7 p.m.

The month of December is going to be a tough one. A really tough one. It starts with the Colorado Avalanche on Dec. 1, and that night, Patrice Bergeron's No. 37 will be retired into the TD Garden rafters. After the Detroit Red Wings visit with former forward Viktor Arvidsson, the Bruins will make their way South to Florida for a pair of very tough games against the new-look Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning. Both teams are expected to be good again this year and near the top of the Atlantic Division.
Boston will also visit the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes on the second leg of a back-to-back after hosting the New Jersey Devils. Former coach Jim Montgomery makes his return with the St. Louis Blues and new defenseman Brandon Carlo, two nights after the Panthers make their second trip of the season to Boston.
The Bruins will host the Philadelphia Flyers and former goalie Dan Vladar on Dec. 20, before they visit Long Island and the New York Islanders in their last game before Christmas. They return the day after Christmas, hosting the Islanders before visiting the Devils. Boston closes out the month hosting the Edmonton Oilers before ringing in the New Year on the road against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Like in November, with more home games than road games, the Bruins need to take advantage of the schedule and bank points at home that will be valuable at the end of the season. The schedule will even out in terms of road games, which puts more importance on home games in 2026-27.
