After a rather light month of February in terms of games, with a break involved for 11 days, the Boston Bruins will hit the ice in March in what is going to be a season-defining month, with the playoff push heating up and the NHL trade deadline happening.
The trade deadline has yielded two different results in the last two seasons, with the Black and Gold being sellers in March of 2025 and basically standing pat this past March. Boston benefited from the fire sale the previous season in the 2025-26 season and made the playoffs, despite general manager Don Sweeney staying rather quiet at the deadline. Here is a look at a very busy month of March for the Bruins.

- March 11: at Pittsburgh Penguins, 7:30 p.m.
- March 13: vs. Calgary Flames, 7 p.m.
- March 15: vs. New York Islanders, 7 p.m.
- March 18: at Philadelphia Flyers, 7 p.m.
- March 20: at Nashville Predators, 5 p.m.
- March 23: vs. Buffalo Sabres, 7 p.m.
- March 25: vs. Ottawa Senators, 7 p.m.

One quick look at the Bruins' April schedule shows that this is a rather huge month for the Black and Gold. They play two games against the Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, and Pittsburgh Penguins: a home game and a road game against each. They also visit the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals as Eastern Conference teams in what could be huge games in the race for the postseason.
There are also games with Metropolitan Division teams, the New York Islanders and Philadelphia Flyers, while the Calgary Flames visit and Boston visits the Nashville Predators. Maybe the biggest game will be another game with the Buffalo Sabres in a rematch of last spring's first-round playoff series that Buffalo won in six games.
If the Bruins are going to make the playoffs for a second year in a row, they will have to survive in the Eastern Conference standings into March. Taking advantage of a home-heavy schedule early in the season will be key, but the Black and Gold face a month in April where they spend most of it on the road, which will be very difficult.
