After splitting a two-game series with the Capitals in D.C., the Boston Bruins will be in Philadelphia for their next two games against the Flyers. So far this season, the B’s have had the Flyers number as they won both games against them, one being in dominant fashion.

Since these two teams last met, the Black and Gold have continued their strong offensive play, winning three of four games and gathering seven out of eight possible points while also scoring at least three goals in each game.

The Flyers have since turned their game around and have won all four games since losing both games to the B’s. They have looked strong on both sides of the puck, scoring at least three goals in all four games and have only allowed more than two goals, no more than three, twice.

So, once again, the Black and Gold will be facing a red-hot team and will face the daunting task of ending a four-game win streak. Boston will definitely have their hands full tonight, unless Philly for some reason just cannot play strong games against the B’s.

Boston Bruins at Philadelphia Flyers projected lineups.

Boston Bruins
Record: 6-1-2 (14 points)

For the Bruins, not much seems to different from Monday’s lineup. Forwards Jake DeBrusk, Ondrej Kase, and Jack Studnicka, as well as defenseman Matt Grzelcyk are all still out with injuries.

The only difference seems to be that Karson Kuhlman will not be in the lineup tonight after he was placed on the taxi squad. Anton Blidh was called up to the regular roster and was taking line rushes in today’s morning skate on the fourth line’s left wing, so he seems likely to make his season debut tonight.

Expect the Bruins’ lineup to look like this tonight:

Marchand – Bergeron – Pastrnak
Ritchie – Krejci – Smith
Frederic – Coyle – Wagner
Blidh – Kuraly – Bjork

Lauzon – McAvoy
Clifton – Carlo
Zboril – Miller

Rask (Halak)

Tuukka Rask gets the start between the pipes tonight as head coach Bruce Cassidy continues his very predictable goalie rotation. Rask also has great career numbers against Philly, so that probably made the decision even easier for Cassidy.

Philadelphia Flyers
Record: 7-2-1 (15 points)

As I previously mentioned, the Flyers are red-hot winning their last four games. A part of this success has been the rotation of defensemen Erik Gustafsson and Robert Hägg. So, tonight Gustafsson will be in as Hägg played last game.

One of the main differences from the previous two games the B’s played against the Flyers is that defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere has returned to the Philadelphia lineup. After a rough 2019-20 season, he seems to be in much better form this year.

Expect the Flyers’ lineup to look like this tonight:

Giroux – Patrick – Voracek
Lindblom – Hayes – Konecny
van Riemsdyk – Laughton – Farabee
Raffl – Bunnaman – Aube-Kubel

Provorov – Gostisbehere
Sanheim – Myers
Gustafsson – Braun

After being dominated and losing 6-1 in their last meeting, the Flyers will be looking for redemption against the Bruins tonight and next game. The Bruins will have to hold off an expected strong push at first and will most likely have to battle hard for the entirety of tonight’s game.
