The Boston Bruins revealed some more of what their reverse retro jerseys will look like.

Today, Sunday, Nov. 15, the Boston Bruins — along with the rest of the NHL’s Atlantic Division — revealed a little bit more of what their reverse retro jerseys will look like.

Just five days ago, on Nov. 10, we learned what colors these jerseys will be as well as what years they will be modeled after. For Boston, we found out that their reverse retros will be gold and be modeled after the uniforms the team wore in 1990.

Today we got the honor of finding out what the B’s shoulder patch will be as well as what their collars will look like. In jump scare fashion, we learned that the shoulder patch will be what many fans call the infamous “Meth Bear” logo.

More about the Boston Bruins’ “Meth Bear” logo.

This bear head logo is known as the “Meth Bear” due to how messed up and non-proportional the head is. This, in turn, makes the bear look like it’s under the influence of some sort of drug.

The logo was created before the 1976-77 season and was used as a shoulder patch. This bear head would be used as the team’s shoulder patch until the 1994-95 season.

With the logo being used as the team’s shoulder patch during the first half of the 1990’s it makes perfect sense that it’s now going to be the shoulder patch of the team’s reverse retro jerseys that are modeled after the uniforms in 1990.

However, I wish this wasn’t the case. This logo is indeed a huge part of Boston’s history, but it’s absolutely atrocious and a major joke.

I wish the B’s could somehow modernize and fix what’s wrong with the logo and use that version. Along with the uniforms, the logo would also be “1990 with a modern-day remix.”

Maybe we’ll get something like that in the future, but for now, it seems as though we’re stuck with the monstrosity that is known as the “Meth Bear.”
