The Boston Bruins headed into the four day holiday break on a heater.  And you never walk away from the table when you’re on a heater.  What is on each players’ wish list?

When breaks in the NHL season or the Boston Bruins schedule occurs, we usually have to find a way to fill the gaps in Bruins coverage.  The Bruins have put themselves on quite a hot streak, so there’s plenty to write about this team.  But being as it’s the holiday season, I decided to get Christmas-y with my post today.

So, in the vein, let’s take a stab at what each person on the Bruins roster had on their list to Santa Claus this season.  I know as a Bruins fan, all I want is a playoff appearance this season.  Don’t get me wrong, a Stanley Cup would be great.  But I’m thinking we should put that on our 2018 wish list.  Gives Santa’s elves a year to work on making the Stanley Cup champion gear for 2018-2019.

Forwards

More from Causeway Crowd

Brad Marchand – A cell phone that blocks incoming calls from the NHL Department of Player Safety.

Patrice Bergeron – A bigger trophy case to hold all of his Selke Trophies.

David Pastrnak – $8.00 rice and chicken teriyaki, given he likes it so much it was his first meal after signing his new $40 million deal.

David Backes – A brave soul in Boston to donate some internal organs to the bruising forward.

Ryan Spooner – DJ Spoons could probably use a new sets of 1s and 2s.

David Krejci – A good health insurance plan, having missed 16 of the teams 18 games this season due to various injuries.

Jake DeBrusk – A clause in his contract that says he needs to be healthy scratched every 5 or so games, for health and motivation.

Anders Bjork – A brief stint in Providence to get his game back and to shed the invisibility cloak he tends to wear in games recently.

Danton Heinen – A permanent residence in Boston, having earned himself a permanent place in the Bruins lineup.

Riley Nash – More than 15 minutes of ice time to compete with Bergy for the Selke, given the reasonable point production (2-10–12) and solid defensive play.

Noel Acciari – Some Aquaphor to protect the tattoo he got to memorialize his fallen former teammate, Drew Brown, who passed away after a battle with cancer.

Sean Kuraly – The Bruins brass to forget that he is waivers exempt, because when and if the team gets fully healthy, he becomes one of the choices for a demotion down I-95.

Tim Schaller – A new contract, being a pending UFA and one of only six players, and one of only three forwards to play in all 34 games this season.

Defenseman

Zdeno Chara – Directions to the fountain of youth, to ensure the 40 year old makes it through the season, and hopefully, a playoff run.

Charlie McAvoy – A fake ID, so he can indulge in all of the beers that Boston Bruins fans want to buy the future of the Bruins core.

Kevan Miller – A set of ear plugs to help him get some sleep, as he and his wife Haley are now out of Silent Nights as first time parents.

Torey Krug – An NHL rule change that prohibits a team when shorthanded from being allowed to carry the puck beyond center ice, so he doesn’t have to worry about playing defense on the power play.

Matt Grzelcyk – One of the Bruins defenseman ahead of him to get traded, so he can stay in Boston and stay in the lineup.

Brandon Carlo – The Bruins to remain committed to him being “off limits,” and the Bruins not using his potential in a trade deal.

Adam McQuaid – A healthy right fibula.

Next: Charlie McAvoy for Calder Trophy?

Goalies

Tuukka Rask – A 2.00 GAA and .930+ save percentage the rest of the way this season, en route to a Jennings Trophy (and perhaps a Vezina?) to distract the haters.

Anton Khudobin – His four game win streak in November and recent shutout to be remembered by fans if he struggles in his few starts going forward.
