What’s Bruin? Boston Bruins Look to Continue Winning Streak

Coming off a 2-0 shutout win against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Boston Bruins are on the heels of a five game winning streak and are looking strong. Although there are still some areas of their game that need improvement, the B’s have gained momentum and moved up in the rankings. With a total of 82 points, the Bruins are currently holding on to the top Wild Care spot for the Eastern Conference. Tied in points with the Washington Capitals – with one game in hand – the next few games are going to be crucial for continuing on their road to the postseason.

Washington Capitals

Tonight at 7:30pm EST, the Bruins will take on the Washington Capitals in what is arguably their most important game of the season so far. Currently tied in points, taking two points is absolutely necessary. The last time these two teams met, the outcome did not go in the Bruins favor with the Caps taking the game 4-0. Hopefully, with their new boost of energy, speed and production the Bruins can come out on top and continue moving up in the rankings.

Buffalo Sabres

“I think we believe in ourselves right now…The management…they all believe in us, and we have to show them that we can do it.” Patrice Bergeron

The Bruins will host the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday March 17th at 7:30pm EST. Meeting for the fourth time this year, the B’s are hoping to sweep the series having won the last three games 4-0, 3-2 and 4-3. The Sabres are currently standing in dead last in the league, but that doesn’t mean that the Bruins should slack off during the game. Two of the three games they have played have gone into overtime, which proves that the B’s haven’t had the best luck against Buffalo.

Ottawa Senators

On Thursday March 19th at 7:30pm EST, the Bruins will head to Ottawa to take on the Senators for the fourth and final time of the season. Standing only seven points ahead of the Sens, taking these two points is also crucial for the B’s. The last time these two teams met, the Bruins came out with a 3-1 win. Spooner notched two goals and Eriksson landed a beautiful breakaway that led the team to a victory. If the Bruins can play with the same energy and confidence that they did during their last meeting, they will easily come away with two points.

Florida Panthers

More from Bruins News

Meeting for only their second time this year, the Bruin’s will face their former teammate, Shawn Thornton and the rest of the Florida Panthers on Saturday March 21st at 7pm EST. The Panthers recently acquired former Bruin Jaromir Jagr to help them make it to a postseason. However, they are currently standing six points behind the Bruins and out of playoff contention. The Bruins will face the Panthers two more times this season on March 31st and April 9th.
