For a team that has made a name for themselves by missing easy goals, the Bruins were able to capitalize on almost every opportunity sent their way. Notching six goals, the Bruins offense was at the top of their game and it couldn’t have come at a better time. The Bruins had to work together to get as many points as possible in order to stand a chance against the productive Chicago team and that is exactly what they did. At three minutes into the first period, Patrice Bergeron landed a wrist shot in the net after a beautiful pass from Reilly Smith. From that point forward, the Bruins offense dominated the game. Even the fourth line, which has been pretty unproductive this entire season was able to get on the scoreboard thanks to a goal by Gregory Campbell.
Not only did the B’s offense show their improvements in their puck handling skills, but their love for the game was exhibited as well. Although there were some unnecessary penalties, the Bruins played with passion and energy. It was a much needed win that will hopefully fuel their hunger to continue gaining points.
