The NHL trade chatter and rumors never stop. No need to tell any Boston Bruins fans that, with the chatter that has been around center Pavel Zacha for the last year-plus. It won't stop until he either signs an extension or is traded by the deadline.

Meanwhile, a former Bruins forward has been the center of trade rumors since the deadline back in March, and he continues to be mentioned. Jake DeBrusk, a former Boston first-round pick, has been the subject of trade rumors, and like Zacha, they won't go away until he is ultimately traded. Adam Gretz of Bleacher Report dropped five potential landing spots for DeBrusk, and two of them are in the Atlantic Division.

It feels like it's a matter of time before Boston's 14th overall pick of the 2025 Entry Draft is moved. He left in free agency for the Vancouver Canucks after the 2023-24 season, and things haven't gone as planned in Vancouver. Now, the Canucks are likely headed for a long retool or rebuild, and that is something that DeBrusk does want to be part of. Gretz listed five potential destinations, and two of them were the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

Those would not be ideal landing spots from a Bruins' perspective. Two teams, the Black and Gold, are going to be battling for a playoff spot, and getting a motivated forward would be tough for Don Sweeney and the Boston front office to swallow.

Gretz also mentioned the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, and Minnesota Wild as other spots. Truth be told, those would be fine landing spots as far as the Bruins are concerned.

No, there is no chance of a DeBrusk reunion in Boston like there was with Connor Clifton this past summer and Sean Kuraly two summers ago. Instead, the Bruins will watch and see where he lands if he is indeed moved.

Boston fans know what kind of player DeBrusk is, and Canucks' fans have found out also the last two seasons. When he's playing well, he can be a difference-maker. However, that isn't always the case, which has led to some frustrating times in Boston and currently in Vancouver. However, you could see a different version of DeBrusk if he lands with a team in the Eastern Conference that is a contender. That would be a worst-case scenario for the Bruins. It wouldn't be surprising to see him back in the East at some point.
