Just one week after moving into the fourth spot on the all-time goals list for the Boston Bruins, David Pastrnak has tied with his former teammate, Patrice Bergeron, for third.
On Saturday night against the San Jose Sharks, Pastrnak netted his 427th goal for the Black and Gold. The goal also puts him at seven for the season, in the 12 games the Bruins have played.
Chasing History
After passing Brad Marchand, who he was briefly tied with when he had 422 goals, Pastrnak found the back of the net for the 427th time after coming out of the penalty box in the third period against the Sharks.

Pastrnak is looking just like his form back when he scored 61 goals on the season, which kicked off his four-year consecutive 100-point season.
Pastrnak hit this milestone just one week after hitting his 423rd goal, which put him 4th on the all-time list, which makes it even more impressive, as he has also done every single goal wearing the Black and Gold.
Pastrnak is a natural scorer, and it is good to see that side of him come back to the game, after it seemed like last year there were some times when fans were questioning where Pastrnak was and why he was not assisting.
Who's Left?
Being tied for third only means a few things: the player is third best, and there is only going up from here.
In front of Pastrnak are Phil Esposito and Johnny Bucyk. Esposito sits second with 459 career goals, while Buyck has a very comfortable lead, sitting there with 545 goals.
Pastrnak just needs one more to have third to himself, which means he would need just 32 to jump over Esposito into the second spot on the all-time scoring list. 32 goals in one season is not impossible, especially for someone like Pastrnak. Besides last season, in which he scored just 29 goals, in the four seasons before that he scored 40, 61, 47, and 43 goals, respectively, since 2021-22.
If Pastrnak can channel that side of himself, then in the next 72 games, there is a chance fans will see a new number two on the all-time scoring list of the Boston Bruins this season. For fans' sake, let's hope the team keeps this information to a minimum, just because as soon as he gets in his head, Pastrnak seems to just forget everything he can do with the puck on his stick.
There are only two players left on the list, and if Pastrnak somehow passes both of them, he will have forever ingrained himself into Bruins history, no matter when he hangs up his skates.
