Going into the 2026-27 season, there are more questions than answers facing the Boston Bruins. After being a surprise team that made the Stanley Cup Playoffs as the first Eastern Conference wild-card team with 100 points. They took advantage of some teams having a down season because of injuries and other circumstances.
It hasn't exactly been a huge offseason of change for the Black and Gold, who acquired JJ Peterka from the Utah Mammoth for a pair of first-round draft picks. While they have failed to make big upgrades, that has been the case for the rest of the division and conference. Apparently, the NHL thinks big things are ahead for the Bruins in 2026-27, as they are going to be on National TV 20 times this winter.
Bruins get staggering 20 National TV games in 2026-27
Here is a list of the games that the NHL announced that will have the Bruins on 20 occasions in Marco Sturm's second season as head coach.

Oct. 20: Boston Bruins at Dallas Stars, 8 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Oct. 27: Boston Bruins at Carolina Hurricanes, 8 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Nov. 18: Boston Bruins at Detroit Red Wings, 7:30 p.m. ET (TNT)
Dec. 1: Colorado Avalanche at Boston Bruins, 7:30 p.m. ET (TNT/NESN)
Dec. 15: Florida Panthers at Boston Bruins, 7 p.m. ET (TNT)

Opening night against the Rangers makes sense, as do some other games, but it shouldn't be surprising that TNT is going to be broadcasting the Avalanche home game early in December. That night is the night that Patrice Bergeron's number will be lifted to the TD Garden rafters. It shouldn't come as a surprise that 10 games are Atlantic Division games, including two home games against the Sabres in a playoff rematch and Brad Marchand's return as a member of the Panthers.
Again, the NHL must know something that a lot of us don't about the Bruins this upcoming season to have them on National TV 20 times. This was certainly not something that a lot of people had on their bingo cards earlier this summer when the schedule was announced.
