Coming off a dominating win on Thursday night over the Utah Mammoth, the Boston Bruins were looking to finish a three-game homestand at 2-1 against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday afternoon at the TD Garden.

A banged-up Flyers squad entered the game 0-3-2 and were outshot 32-15 in what was a dominating 5-1 victory before they head out on a four-game West Coast trip. Here are three takeaways as Charlie McAvoy's six-game suspension ended and he can return on Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks.

Pavel Zacha finally finds the back of the net

Against Utah on Thursday night, David Pastrnak and Morgan Geekie finally found the back of the net for their first goals of the season. One player who has been searching for his first goal of the season going into Saturday's game is Pavel Zacha. It didn't take him long to find the back of the net.

After taking the first Boston penalty in the game midway through the first period, Zacha opened the scoring when he took a pass from Pastrnak off a Flyers turnover at the blueline and his wrist shot eluded Dan Vladar to open the scoring.

Sometimes a break like that can get a player going in the scoring department.

Bruins' power play came back to earth

Well, all good things have to come to an end sooner or later. For the Black and Gold power play, it was short-lived, unfortunately. After scoring their first three man-advantage goals of the season after beginning 0-for-10, they went 3-for-4 against Utah.

Against Philadelphia, they had their first chance in the second period, and it looked like the Bruins' power play of the first four games: struggling to enter the zone, bad passes, and when there was even a chance to take a shot, they made a pass. The second power play was just 16 seconds early in the third period, so there was nothing they could do with that one. However, on the upcoming

Jeremy Swayman picks up another win

You would have thought that in a 6-1 win like the Bruins had on Thursday night against the Mammoth, the box score should say that it was a quiet night for the winning netminder. That was far from the case.

The Bruins were outshot 37-22, and Swayman had to make 36 saves to get a win. It was one of the wilder stats in some time. Swayman was under siege in the first minute and made some big saves before his teammates were able to buy some chances down the other end. Against the Flyers, they didn't hit double digits in shots until nearly midway through the third period. Swayman made 13 saves to pick up the fourth win of the season in five games.
