As the Stanley Cup playoffs reach the mid-point of the Semifinals, more and more awards are being handed out. Thursday, the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) released their Player Polls after nearly 500 players gave their votes on a variety of topics. Believe it or not, some members of the Boston Bruins found their way into the results, with some being very, very interesting in the voting from their peers.

David Pastrnak was voted the third-best goal-scorer in the league, behind Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals. Matthews (46.27%) and Ovechkin (33.82%) ran away from Pasta and his 6.02%. Connor McDavid from the Edmonton Oilers was fourth at 4.56%.

This one is interesting. Tuukka Rask found himself in the top-five for best goalie, albeit at just 4.02%, which put him behind Andrei Vasilevskiy of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who was the runaway winner at 54.12%. Vegas Golden Knights netminder Marc-Andre Fleury was second with 8.88% of the votes.

Who is the most complete player? Well, Patrice Bergeron finished tied with Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby with 23.78% of the vote. Both Crosby and Bergeron have proven to be two of the most complete players in the NHL and it’s nice to see their peers recognize them, even in a shortened season.

Bergeron, the Bruins captain, finished fourth with just 4.57% of the vote for “the one player you would want on your team if you needed to win one game”. Connor McDavid of the Oilers was the run-away winner with 36.74% of the vote. No surprise there.

Pastrnak found himself tied for fifth with Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche for having the best shot in the NHL. The winner? Well, it should come as no surprise that Ovechkin ran away with 48.95% of the vote, finishing over 20% ahead of Matthews, who was second.

Some fun results that were voted on the NHLPA saw Pastrnak came out on top, some in a landslide.

Pastrnak collected 42.32% of the votes for the player that has the most unique tape job. He finished second behind Matthews (21.16%) at 11.08% as the most fashionable player. I could not make this up.

The NHL will continue to hand out their awards for the 56-game 2020-21 regular season, but it’s nice to see the NHLPA have some fun voting on their peers for the short four-month grind in one of the most unique seasons in the history of the game. You can see the full results here.
