It’s finally here. The Boston Bruins and Stanley Cup playoffs. Tonight, the Black and Gold begin the quest for the Stanley Cup against the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena. In what may be the most hyped first-round series that the National Hockey League has in 2021, there are several storylines.

After playing each other eight times this season as part of the NHL’s 2021 regular season to focus on realignment to cut down on travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bruins and Caps were placed in the East Divison.

Both teams battled their way through a 56-game gauntlet to finish in the top four and get a playoff berth.

With the Capitals being the second-seed, they got the home-ice advantage over the third-seeded Bruins in the best-of-seven series. Each team won four of the matchups, so what better than a best-of-seven series to decide which is the better team this season?

Ahead of tonight’s matchup, Boston dropped a pair of hype videos ahead of Game 1 that will get anyone fired up for the Stanley Cup playoffs.

If you liked that, watch this.

There is plenty to watch for in this series. Which team gets the better goaltending? Will the Bruins’ new addition of Taylor Hall and the second-line continue their hot play?

Which special teams have a better series? Can the young Bruins defense survive following the departures of Torey Krug to the St. Louis Blues in free agency last October and former captain Zdeno Chara left of the Nations Captial and, yeah, those Capitals?

Were are about to find out the answer to those questions over the next two weeks, but what a better way to watch Game 1 than watching those videos the B’s dropped today?
