Bruins at Flyers 4/6/21: Another rookie set to make debut

The Boston Bruins are set to take on the Philadelphia Flyers for the second time in the same amount of nights. Last night, the B’s fell to the Flyers for the first time this season in a close, 3-2 overtime loss.

Tonight, Boston looks to bounce back from last night’s loss. These games against Philly are extremely important as the Flyers are right behind the Black and Gold in the standings with 41 points. That’s just three points behind the B’s.

With the loss last night, head coach Bruce Cassidy has decided to make a few changes to the lineup for tonight. I’ll get more into those in a bit.

Hopefully the B’s can give a similar effort to last night, but get two points instead of one. Every point matters at this point in the season, and the Black and Gold need to start racking up as many as possible to secure a playoff spot with the Flyers right on their tail.

As I mentioned earlier, the B’s lineup for tonight will look a bit different from last night.

Forward Chris Wagner will return to the lineup with Zach Senyshyn coming out as a healthy scratch. With this change, Karson Kuhlman will move up to the third line from the fourth line.

Along with Wagner, defenseman Kevan Miller will finally make his way back into the lineup after dealing with discomfort to his surgically repaired knee. He’ll play in his normal spot on the third defensive pair as Steve Kampfer will come out and be a healthy scratch.

In net, Jeremy Swayman will make his NHL debut. With Tuukka Rask still out with an upper-body injury, Jaroslav Halak out due to COVID-19, and Dan Vladar playing last night, the B’s have basically no choice but going with the pro hockey rookie. Vladar will back up Swayman.

The Flyers will be going with the same lineup as they did last night, except for in net. Carter Hart will start tonight as Brian Elliott was in net last night.

This game will be interesting to watch. Swayman making his NHL debut in his first season of pro hockey and seeing how the B’s react to their first loss to the Flyers this season. Truly a must-watch game.
