Boston Bruins: Thursday’s game vs Islanders looks good to go
After having their last two games postponed due multiple players going on the COVID-19 list, the Boston Bruins are supposed to be back in action tomorrow at TD Garden against the New York Islanders.
From the recent news that has been coming out, this game is looking more and more likely to happen.
Since David Pastrnak, Jake DeBrusk, David Krejci, and Craig Smith have gone on the COVID-19 list, no other B’s have been added. This fact has allowed the Black and Gold to set up a practice for tonight at 7 PM EST.
The fact that Boston has re-opened their facilities and is able to practice is a sure sign that they’ll be playing tomorrow against the Isles — unless another player tests positive before the game, of course.
Most of the Boston Bruins players on the COVID-19 list are coming off of it.
Going into today, the B’s had Pastrnak, DeBrusk, Kuraly, Krejci, and Smith on the COVID-19 list. Now, just DeBrusk and Kuraly remain on the list.
While I hope DeBrusk and Kuraly get well soon, their absences don’t actually hurt the Black and Gold. DeBrusk has struggled to consistently be a force in games and Kuraly has been downright awful.
Getting Pasta, Krejci, and Smith off the list is huge and important to the B’s success, however. Pastrnak currently leads the team in goals; Krejci, although hasn’t been able to produce many goals, has consistently produced assists; and Smith is always capable of scoring with his “shoot from anywhere and everywhere” mentality.
While Boston was able to secure a point after going to a shootout against the Isles in their last matchup, they still do not have a win against them. The B’s will definitely need the three players that were removed from the COVID-19 list to beat the Islanders.
However, it’s still unknown if Pasta, Krejci, and Smith will be practicing tonight. So, it’s also unknown if they’ll be playing in tomorrow’s game.
But, these questions will be answered soon. Hopefully we get the answers we want and these three players practice tonight and will be able to play tomorrow. The fact that they were removed from the COVID-19 list is certainly encouraging.
