The addition of Bobby Ryan increases depth down the wing and creates a stronger third line and a potential young energy fourth line. Marc Staal adds veteran experience to the Boston Bruins left side and would be a great fit up and down the pairings with any young defenceman.

The Boston Bruins would have to do this deal.

If Don Sweeney has the opportunity to swing this deal, he has to pounce on it. The chance to acquire veteran contributors that fill positional needs and have that playoff experience is something that should be a no-doubter in management’s minds.

Yes, the Boston Bruins would have to give up some assets, but the window is closing for some of the Bruins’ top veterans and it’s time to go all-in in an attempt to win another Stanley Cup with this group.
