Senyshyn and Swayman Lead Providence to Another Win

Zach Senyshyn continues to have a terrific start to the 2021 American Hockey League season. The Boston Bruins prospect scored his fifth goal of the season Wednesday afternoon in a 3-0 shutout of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the minor league affiliate of the New York Islanders.

Senyshyn has four assists to go along with his five goals for nine points. Rookie forward Matt Filipe scored his first goal AHL goal and Karson Kuhlman added the other Providence goals.

The story of the game was rookie goalie Jeremy Swayman. In his sixth start of the season, the former University of Maine standout recorded his first career shutout by stopping all 25 shots by the Sound Tigers.

Swayman is 6-0 with a 1.50 goals-against (GAA) average and an impressive .945 save percentage (SV%). Forward Jakab Lauko continued his impressive start in the first 10 games of the season with his sixth assist.

P-Bruins fall in overtime to  Hartford.

Monday afternoon at the P-Bruins 2021 regular season home arena at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Providence lost in overtime to the Hartford Wolf Pack, 3-2.

Cam Hughes continued his strong season with a multi-point game with a goal and an assist. Robert Lantosi scored the other P-Bruins goal. Senyshyn continued his hot streak to begin the season as he collected his fourth assist of the season.

Dan Vladar made 21 saves in the game, before heading to Boston and joining the Bruins for their game at the Islanders Tuesday night as Jaroslav Halak’s backup. Tuukka Rask, who was dealing with an injury issue, stayed behind in Boston as the Bruins didn’t want him traveling to and from Long Island.

Providence finishes their busy week of three games in five days on Friday when they host Hartford at the New England Sports Center.
