Following their game against the New Jersey Devils at the TD Garden Thursday night, the next time the Boston Bruins take to the ice for a game, it will be in the NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe Weekend.
The annual NHL Winter Classic was postponed this season because of the late start of the season because of COVID-19. In early January, the league announced that there would be a pair of games at Lake Tahoe, Nevada on the third weekend in February.
The Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights will play the first game Saturday at Lake Tahoe. Sunday, the Bruins will take the ice for their fifth game of the season with their new East Division foe, the Philadelphia Flyers.
Pictures are starting to leak of the Lake Tahoe set up for the Bruins game.
Thursday, the NHL tweeted some pictures of the setup of the rink where the games at Edgewood Tahoe Resort are going to take place.
The game will take place on the 18th fairway at Edgewood Golf Course. It has taken the NHL a lot of time to put everything together, but the pictures coming out are showing the best backdrops of any NHL outdoor game.
The goalie’s view has a nice backdrop to the mountains, while the center ice view near the ice level has a nice mountain view in the backdrop as well.
This will be the Bruins’ fourth outdoor game in the last 11 years. After games at Fenway Park, Gillette Stadium, and Notre Dame Stadium, the Black and Gold will head West to Nevada for the second outdoor battle with Flyers in 11 years.
The NHL has put on several good outdoor games and this weekend should be another to add to that list.
