Bruins at Islanders 2/13/21: Game preview, lineups, and more
The Boston Bruins go up against the New York Islanders for the second this season. After being shutout last time, the B’s will be looking to score at least a goal tonight and ultimately knock off an Isles team that’s been iffy at times so far this season.
As I said, the time these two teams met, the Islanders shutout the Black and Gold 1-0. However, this was just the third game of the season and the B’s were still finding their way back from a long offseason.
Since then, Boston has been much better offensively as they found their stride and had David Pastrnak return from offseason surgery. The Isles, on the other hand, have found themselves struggling in all aspects of the game at times — unable to score and unable to stop the opposition from scoring.
With the way these two teams play, I’m expecting another low-scoring, physical game like last night against the New York Rangers and the last time the Black and Gold played the Islanders.
Boston Bruins at New York Islanders projected lineups.
Boston Bruins
Record: 10-1-2 (22 points)
The B’s will be sending out almost the same lineup they sent out last night in their 1-0 win over the Rangers. The changes will be defenseman John Moore making his season debut with Connor Clifton coming out, and Tuukka Rask getting the start in net with this being a back-to-back scenario and Jaroslav Halak got the start last night.
Expect the Bruins to lineup like this tonight:
Marchand – Bergeron – Pastrnak
Ritchie – Krejci – Smith
DeBrusk – Coyle – Bjork
Frederic – Kuraly – Wagner
Lauzon – McAvoy
Moore – Carlo
Zboril – Miller
Rask (Halak)
New York Islanders
Record: 5-4-3 (13 points)
The Islanders have been playing the last few games without one of their top-six forwards in Anthony Beauvillier. There was some talk that Beauvillier could return tonight, however, he has been ruled out and will not play tonight.
Additionally, Leo Komarov was placed on waivers, so we probably won’t see him tonight. Kieffer Bellows will most likely be in his spot.
Expect the Islanders to lineup like this tonight:
Lee – Barzal – Bailey
Dal Colle – Nelson – Eberle
Bellows – Pageau – Wahlstrom
Martin – Cizikas – Clutterbuck
Pelech – Pulock
Leddy – Mayfield
Greene – Dobson
Varlamov (Sorokin)
Where and when to watch Boston Bruins at New York Islanders.

The Bruins will need to control and set the pace for this game. If the B’s can get to the Islanders early and not allow them to play their game, they are sure to win and score some goals.
