The Boston Bruins will be finishing up their four-game road trip tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers. This will be the fourth matchup overall and second consecutive game between the two teams this season.
Last game saw the B’s jump out to an early lead with a goal from David Pastrnak just 12 seconds in. However, the Black and Gold would deflate after that, going down 3-1 in the third.
But just like they did the two previous games against the Washington Capitals, Boston fought back and tied the game at three last in the third period, thanks to two more goals, an overall hat-trick, from Pasta. Overtime wouldn’t last long as Patrice Bergeron finished it just 31 second in.
The B’s will be looking to get out to another early lead tonight, but instead of relaxing on the pressure they put on the Flyers after the first period of the previous game, they’ll be looking to sustain this pressure and hold a lead.
Boston Bruins at Philadelphia Flyers projected lineups.
Boston Bruins
Record: 7-1-2 (16 points)
With so many injuries, the Bruins don’t have many options to switch up the lineup. They’ll either be rolling with the same one from last game or will have Karson Kuhlman in for Anton Blidh.
Expect the Bruins to look like this tonight:
Marchand – Bergeron – Pastrnak
Ritchie – Krejci – Smith
Frederic – Coyle – Wagner
Blidh/Bjork – Kuraly – Bjork/Kuhlman
Lauzon – McAvoy
Clifton – Carlo
Zboril – Miller
Rask (Halak)
Head coach Bruce Cassidy has finally decided to end his goalie rotation so Tuukka Rask will get a second consecutive start.
Philadelphia Flyers
Record: 7-2-2 (16 points)
The Flyers look like they’ll also be going with the same lineup from Wednesday, except tonight the B’s will be facing Brian Elliott and not Carter Hart.
However, Philadelphia has been rotating defensemen Erik Gustafsson and Robert Hägg, so Hägg could be in for Gustafsson tonight.
Expect the Flyers to look like this tonight:
Giroux – Patrick – Voracek
Lindblom – Hayes – Konecny
van Riemsdyk – Laughton – Farabee
Raffl – Bunnaman – Aube-Kubel
Provorov – Gostisbehere
Sanheim – Myers
Hägg/Gustafsson – Braun
Elliott (Hart)
