For the second straight game, the Boston Bruins rallied from a three-goal deficit against the Washington Capitals. Saturday night, Boston rallied from a 3-0 deficit to force overtime, only to lose early in the extra session on an Alex Ovechkin goal.

Monday night, the Bruins once again found themselves trailing 3-0, only this time, they completed the comeback. Boston scored five consecutive goals to leave the Nations Capital with a 5-3 victory. Here are three studs for the Bruins in their sixth win of the season.

1. David Pastrnak

Saturday night, Pasta made his season debut with an assist, but Monday night, the former Maurice Rocket Richard co-winner last season with Ovechkin found the back of the net twice.

With the Bruins trailing 3-0 in the second period, Pastrnak scored off an offensive zone faceoff, and then early in the third period, he scored his second goal to bring the Bruins within a goal, setting the stage for a wild final 20 minutes.

With each shift he took in the last two games, his legs seem to be getting better and better, which is a good sign for the Bruins and a not so good sign for the rest of the East Division.

2. Charlie McAvoy

Once again, McAvoy led the Bruins in shifts with 29 and time on ice with 21:47, but he had a big say in the Bruins rally. He finished with an assist on Pastrnak’s second goal of the game in the final period, but he finished the game with a plus-4, which is one stat that gets lost in the win.

McAvoy was on the ice for both of Pasta’s goals, Craig Smith‘s goal, and Brad Marchand‘s empty-net goal to seal the victory. McAvoy also was a big part of the Bruins offense, jumping into the play and spent 3:12 on the power play in place of the injured Matt Grzelcyk.

3. David Krejci

Krejci helped to seal the win by sending Marchand in alone for his empty-net goal with 1:26 left in the game, but it was his efforts at the dot where Krejci earns a spot on this list.

He won seven of his 10 faceoffs in the game and when coach Bruce Cassidy went to the five forward power play in the game, he was again the point man on the unit. He logged 14:49 of time on ice, which included nearly four minutes of power play time.

As usual, when the Bruins need him the most, Krejci was a difference-maker on faceoffs in helping Boston complete the come-from-behind win over the Capitals.
