The Providence Bruins began training camp on Monday for the upcoming 26-game American Hockey League season.

The Boston Bruins minor league affiliate will have to move their games from the Dunkin Donuts Center in downtown Providence, Rhode Island to the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts as the Dunk is being used for coronavirus initiatives.

The P-Bruins had their first on-ice workout on Tuesday and Wednesday, they officially released their roster for the upcoming season.

P-Bruins have 24 players in camp.

Providence has 23 players in camp working out. Here is the breakdown by position groupings,

Forwards-14

Zach Senyshyn, Curtis Hall, Samuel Asselin, Jakub Lauko, Robert Lantosi, Matt Filipe, Alex-Olivier Voyer, Pavel Shen, Karson Kuhlman, Anton Blidh, Cameron Hughes, Paul Carey, Oskar Steen, and Joona Koppanen.

Defensemen-7

Nick Wolff, Cooper Zech, Brady Lyle, Jack Ahcan, Josiah Didier, Steven Kampfer, and Joel Messner.

Goalies-3

Jeremy Swayman, Dan Vladar, and Callum Booth

There is a mixture of some players that have seen time in Boston, as well as a handful of prospects that are getting their professional careers started.

One of the more interesting positions this season will be in goal.  Swayman passed on his senior season at the University of Maine to sign his entry-level contract last spring. With Tuukka Rask and Jaroslav Halak both in the final year of their contracts, it is an important year for the Bruins to have their goaltenders see some action.

General manager Don Sweeney added depth between the pipes in October when he signed Booth to a free agent contract after he spent last season in the Carolina Hurricanes organization.

Hall signed a one-year AHL contract Tuesday with the Bruins after his junior season at Yale University was canceled by the Ivy League over concerns with COVID-19. Even though a 26-game schedule is ahead of Providence over the next three months, Hall has a chance to show the Bruins that his 17-goal season in 2019-20 at Yale was no fluke.

Boston is going through some injuries, so this roster in Providence could and most likely will change in the coming months.
