Where did the Boston Bruins land on the FanSided 250 for 2020?

Before I breakdown the location of the Boston Bruins, I want to explain exactly what the FanSided 250 is. The FanSided 250 is a list of the top 250 fandoms for the year. These fandoms are not just limited to sports but also include celebrities, movies, TV shows, etc.

With FanSided 250 explained, we can now go over where the Bruins ranked on the list.

The Bruins fell inside the top-200 of the list — No. 185 to be exact. This is a better rank than the popular game Among Us, baseball outfielder Juan Soto, NFL franchise Minnesota Vikings, and even the B’s archrival Toronto Maple Leafs.

More specifically, Boston was ranked No. 5 among NHL teams. This was ranked better than teams such as the New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins, and as I previously mentioned the Maple Leafs.

The four teams ranked better than the Black and Gold were Dallas Stars, Washington Capitals, Vegas Golden Knights, and Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning was the only NHL team to break the list’s top-100, which isn’t surprising as they won the Stanley Cup in 2020.

No. 185 overall and No. 5 in the NHL are not bad rankings at all, however, I think the B’s should’ve been ranked higher than a couple of the teams in front of them.

The first team is the Vegas Golden Knights. The Golden Knights are just a few years old, how on Earth do they have a better fandom than an original six team like the Bruins?

I understand the Knights have made the playoffs every year of their existence including a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals their first year of play, but it’s just impossible to say their fans are more loyal and devoted to their team than B’s fans are to theirs.

The second team is the Dallas Stars. Yes, they made the Stanley Cup Finals this year, but they’re a hockey team located in Texas. There’s just no way that their fandom is better than the one that the Black and Gold possess.

While you can argue that the Stars are ranked better because of their trip to the Stanley Cup Finals, you can also argue that the Bruins are better because they won the President’s Trophy for the best regular-season record.

Overall, I think Boston should’ve landed at No. 3 over the Golden Knights and Stars. However, Bruins fans will gladly take No. 5 over the Leafs.
