Two Bruins draftees got mixed news regarding their 2020-21 college hockey season.

It was a mixed announcement of emotion for two draft picks of the Boston Bruins in regards to their 2020-21 college hockey season.

Trevor Kuntar, who was picked in the third round by the Bruins in last month’s draft, will be able to play his freshman season at Boston College after Hockey East announced a 20-game conference schedule. The news was not as good for Curtis Hall at Yale University after the Ivy League announced that it was canceling all winter sports for the 2020-21 season because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Kuntar, a 6-foot-0, 203-pound center, was the top scorer last season for the Youngstown Phantoms in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with 28 goals and 25 assists. A left-handed shot, he heads to veteran BC coach Jerry York with a lot of hype and is expected to make a smooth transition into the Eagles lineup.

Boston College will open their season the weekend of November 20 with a home-and-home series against the University of New Hampshire. The Eagles have a total of 26 games on their schedule. Aside from their 20 conference games where they will play each school twice, they will play two games each against Boston Univesity, Providence and UNH that will be considered “non-conference” games at the end of the year.

The annual Beanpot Tournament held on the first two Mondays in February at the TD Garden that includes, BC, BU, Northeastern and Harvard will likely be canceled for 2021.

Hall will lose his junior year at Yale after having a breakout sophomore season. After scoring five goals as a freshman, he led the Bulldogs with 17 goals and 10 assists for a plus-14 in 28 games in 2019-20.

Next. Bruins: Anders Bjork will break out in 2020-21. dark

Drafted 119th in the fourth-round of the 2018 draft, Hall had one goal in the 2020 World Junior Championships for Team USA in five games.
