As the hockey world is mourning the tragic death of former Boston Bruins player Colby Cave, let’s reflect on Cave’s life and hockey career.

Many of us Bruins and hockey fans are devastated after hearing the news that former Boston Bruins forward Colby Cave has passed away.

Colby meant so much to so many people across the hockey world and none of us will ever forget him. Colby dedicated so much of his life to being the best hockey player he could be and it was shown by his continuous efforts in his game.

Although Colby’s life was cut so tragically short, us Boston Bruins fans will never forget Colby and the role he played on our beloved team.

Colby was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Boston Bruins back in April of 2015 and spent his first three years after being signed playing in Providence. He was called up by the Bruins on December 18, 2018, and scored his first NHL goal against the Montreal Canadiens.

Colby played 23 games in Boston before being placed on waivers. Cave was then picked up off waivers by the Edmonton Oilers in January of 2019.

Colby may not have been the typical NHL superstar like his teammates, Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid in Edmonton, but Colby showed that he was one of the most hardworking players in the league and his efforts never wavered. Colby worked extremely hard at trying to be the best player he possibly could and the NHL needs more players like Cave.

Colby played his heart out in every single game he appeared in and although his stat numbers may be small he impacted every single person he played with.

Players all over the league have taken to social media to say how much Colby meant to them and how much they would miss him.

Players have also shown their support to Colby’s wife Emily and the rest of Colby’s family. Just by reading some of those many tweets and Instagram stories you can see just how much Colby impacted people and how much he meant to people.

Colby’s life may have been cut short but his legacy and memory will live on forever. My sincere condolences go out to Emily, the Cave family, and Colby’s many friends.

Next. Might be a chance of a Krug renewal. dark

Rest in peace Caver, we’ll never forget you.
