Boston Bruins: A trip to New York offers a look at trade target Chris Kreider
With the Boston Bruins facing off against the Rangers this afternoon, Don Sweeney can get a much closer look at Chris Kreider.
As the Boston Bruins take on the New York Rangers today at Madison Square Garden, all eyes will be on Chris Kreider. With the trade deadline just over a week away, the Bruins are looking to bolster their line-up and Kreider could be just the guy to do it.
Kreider has put up some great numbers so far this season with 23 goals and 19 assists through 56 games played. Kreider could be a great fit as a right-winger for David Krejci‘s second line and with the trade deadline close approaching Kreider should be one player the Bruins are focusing on.
At this point, everyone knows that the Bruins need to find a right-winger for David Krejci and Jake Debrusk‘s line. Kreider is a skilled player that has put up good numbers this season with 4 goals and an assist in his last 5 games. Kreider will be a UFA at the end of this season which means this trade deadline is the perfect time for the Bruins to trade for him.

Kreider could be a great fit for the Boston Bruins not only because of how well he plays but also because he’s a hometown kid. Kreider was born in raised in Boxford, Massachusets so not only would this trade benefit the Bruins, but Kreider would also be able to live close to home which is always a plus for players.
Don Sweeney will be able to see Kreider in action this afternoon and us Boston Bruins fans can get possibly the last look at Chris Kreider in a New York Rangers jersey facing off against the Bruins.
The Boston Bruins enter the game fresh off a dominant performance over the Detroit Red Wings, finally managing to score a win over the league’s worst team. The Rangers, meanwhile, took down the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-1 on Friday and will be raring to go.
There’s nothing like an ‘Original Six’ encounter at an arena like Madison Square Garden; hopefully it proves as much a motivator for the Boston Bruins as their home ice likely does for the New York side.
Most of all, let’s hope their rookie goalie doesn’t decide today’s the day to put on a show. We’d rather face the ageing, but still impressive Henrik Lundqvist if that’s going to be the case!
