Senyshyn scores his first points of the season

Zach Senyshyn is a bit of a wild card in the Bruins organization. This past week, he showed why he still could figure in Boston’s plans.

The Bruins drafted Senyshyn in the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft. The pick was controversial at the time because most experts didn’t have Senyshyn rated that high in the draft rankings. But, the Bruins held true to their beliefs and viewed Senyshyn as a long-term play.

Senyshyn’s first two seasons in Providence were decent at best. He had 12 goals in the first year and then 14 in the second.

This season, Senyshyn got off to a really slow start. He had no points through his first nine games, until he finally picked up an assist against Belleville. Then, Senyshyn scored his first goal against Rochester.

It’s great to see Senyshyn finally get on the scoresheet for Providence. Hopefully he build off this and continues to produce.

Senyshyn hasn’t quite popped yet, but if you watch him play, you can see the talent that made him a first round pick. He’s a good skater with a powerful stride, and he also has a solid shot.

There’s still the chance Senyshyn really finds his game and earns a callup to Boston this year. There’s an organization gap at right wing, the the Bruins hope Senyshyn can eventually fill it.
