The Boston Bruins have gotten off to a hot start this season, and forward David Pastrnak is a big reason for that success. With 15 points through the first eight games of the season, is there reason to believe that Pastrnak can keep this up all year long?
David Pastrnak has started the 2019-20 season on fire for the Boston Bruins with nine goals and six assists through the first eight games of the season, including a four-goal performance against the Anaheim Ducks in a 4-2 win on October 14.
While his early success is a sign that he is fully recovered from that nagging hand injury that bothered him throughout the second half of last season, he has to cool down at some point, right?
The simple answer is yes. David Pastrnak is currently on pace for over 150 points this season, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished since Mario Lemieux scored 160 during the 1992-93 season.

While his pace to start the season may be tough to maintain, there’s no reason to doubt that Boston Bruins winger, David Pastrnak could be one of the leading scorers in the NHL this season.
He finished the 2018-19 regular season with 81 points in 66 games, which would’ve translated into a 100-point season if Pastrnak stayed healthy. That would have put him in a tie for fifth-place with Sidney Crosby and teammate Brad Marchand.
While Pastrnak has shown he is developing into an elite talent, his linemates also deserve some credit for his success. Pastrnak, Marchand and Patrice Bergeron have been dominating the NHL for a few seasons now, with all three players elevating their game to new levels recently.
They have been carrying much of the offense for the Boston Bruins once again this season, as the three are the leading scorers for the Bruins early on, followed by Torey Krug.
While the Boston Bruins are still in need of a solution to their secondary scoring, Pastrnak and ‘The Perfection Line’ have done enough early on to earn 12 out of 16 possible points this season.
While 150 points for David Pastrnak this season seems a bit unrealistic, 100 points seems like a sure thing for the winger.
