After a strong preseason performance, should we expect the Boston Bruins to call-up Jack Studnicka to the NHL roster anytime soon?

With the start of a new season upon us, the Boston Bruins roster seems to be set. The Bruins are looking for a rapid start to establish themselves as front runners in a tough Atlantic division. While the Bruins roster looks top notch, could it possibly be better without look outside the organization?

Jack Studnicka starts out the year in Providence. Studnicka made a strong impression on the Bruins after scoring two goals this past preseason. When it came to setting the roster, he was one of the ones who couldn’t make the cut. This does not mean that we will not see him this year.

The Boston Bruins are looking to improve on last year, this includes staying healthy. One of the key story lines from last season was the abundance of injuries for the team, which included Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, Charlie McAvoy, and others missing a significant amount of time. While it has gotten better, there has been signs that this might happen again.

If injuries start to become prevalent again, Jack Studnicka will be one of the first ones up. The 2017 second round pick has shown a lot of potential at lower levels. Studnicka put up 49 points in 30 games with the Niagara IceDogs last year. While there, he displayed speed that could work well with the new look Bruins while adding a scoring element into the mix.

As of right now, it looks like he will be playing in Providence for a little bit. This is the first time Studnicka is playing full time in the Bruin’s system. The team most likely will have him play and develop at that level for as long as possible. The Bruins will wait and see if he can thrive at this before calling him up to Boston.

Jack Studnicka has the potential of becoming a star with the Boston Bruins. In his first to games with Providence, Studnicka has looked efficient and has already recorded a point with an assist on a Brendan Gaunce OT winner. As it looks like the Bruins will take their time with Studnicka, don’t be surprised if he is given the chance to adorn the spoked B at some point this season.
