Boston Bruins: Where has Jake DeBrusk gone this series?
As the Boston Bruins sit tied 2-2 with the St. Louis Blues in the Stanley Cup Final, it may be time to start pointing fingers as the Bruins have shown they’re capable of dominating. The second line has been brutal all series long which leaves us fans to ask a question. Where has Jake DeBrusk gone this series?
Four games in and the second line has become the fourth line for this Boston Bruins team. The disappearance of players like David Krejci and Jake DeBrusk has hurt the team dramatically at times.
Jake DeBrusk is brought into question the most however, as he has proven until the biggest stage that he can hang; he was an important part of the domination in each of the first three series leading into the Stanley Cup Final.
Jake DeBrusk was a real thorn in the side of Toronto and would not back down. In the Columbus series he proved his speed would help burn the opposition and in the Carolina series helped be a part of a dominating second line for the most part. Now, he has been held scoreless in the past six Boston Bruins games, not scoring a goal since Game 2 of the Eastern Conference final series against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Now, we ask, where is he?
It is safe to say he has been the best player on the second line but still missing for the most part. At times you can notice the burst that Jake DeBrusk has in him, but it has not led to anything this series. In Game 4, DeBrusk’s name was finally said when he would try to create something out of nothing with the rest of his line who has under performed.
It may be a case of his line hurting him more than anything. DeBrusk has two points this series but no one would know. His work on the Boston Bruins’ power-play is the only factor you cannot fault him for as he has continued to do his part as the power-play remains a factor. That proves however that his game completely disappeared in Game 4 when they couldn’t use the power-play to their advantage.
If the Boston Bruins hope to win Game 5, Jake DeBrusk and the second line have to wake up. The game that DeBrusk has can in him can completely change the game for the Bruins which is why he must not be someone we are looking for and someone that really shines.
Jake DeBrusk has had an integral role for the Boston Bruins all season long which means he must find his game once again so that the Bruins can raise the Stanley Cup for the second time in the past decade.
