Much of the fame and spotlight for the Boston Bruins has been the first line, due to injuries down the line-up and their overall dominance. David Krejci barely rates a mention at times.

Despite the incredible first line, it has proven that a healthy David Krejci being the centrepiece of the second line all season and throughout the playoffs has given the Boston Bruins a real step up; the upper hand to advance to the Eastern Conference Final for the first time since 2013.

David Krejci has had led the playoffs in points twice in his career and in both of those seasons, the Boston Bruins made it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Currently, he sits at 10 points; 4 goals and 6 assists and has stepped up when the Bruins needed him most.

David Krejci got the scoring going in Game 6 when the Boston Bruins were looking to take the lead, once again, following a goal that was taken back.

Krejci stepped up and proved that his playoff heroics were certainly still alive. He would then weave his way into the zone to set up the third goal that would prove to be the back-breaker to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

It has felt like years of the Bruins front office looking for pieces to pair with Krejci, while Boston Bruins fans grew angry and tired of the injuries that would derail his season and the inconsistencies that went along with that.

Krejci has the largest point total of his career in the regular season as head coach, Bruce Cassidy and General Manager, Don Sweeney finally put the right pieces together.

The duo of David Krejci and his young counterpart Jake DeBrusk fully developed into an incredible tandem for the Bruins to have a counterpart to the top line that gets much of the attention.

If you have watched closely this series, Krejci much of the time in these playoffs, looked like he was the most dominant player in the ice with his ability to handle the puck and set up his guys for opportunities.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs can prove to be the toughest road in all of sports which means the resurgence of David Krejci this season, especially in these playoffs, should bring joy to the hearts of Boston Bruins fans everywhere. You could see it more than ever when color commentator, Mike Millbury continuously praised the second-line center throughout the Blue Jackets’ series.

Next. Backes finally showing some value. dark

If the Bruins plan to get to the Stanley Cup Finals once again, Krejci and his second line will have to continue their incredible play as they take on the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Final, with an eye ahead to hopefully challenging for the Stanley Cup!
