The Boston Bruins announced Wednesday that the club has recalled forwards Karson Kuhlman and Peter Cehlarik from Providence.
In 14 games with Boston this season, Cehlarik has tallied six points (four goals, two assists). He has really excelled playing alongside Jake DeBrusk and David Krejci.
Kuhlman on the other hand has also played well for the Bruins, tallying two points (one goal, one assist) through four games.
With the likes of David Backes and Joakim Nordstrom not playing up to par, this move by Boston was a necessary one. Cehlarik and Kuhlman have proven themselves to be worthy of an NHL roster spot.
Although it’s a small sample size, both players have shown that they can contribute to this club when needed.
With the additions of Cehlarik and Kuhlman, will we see Marcus Johansson get bumped to the third line?
Johansson could very well be bumped to the third line to play alongside Charlie Coyle. Cehlarik could maybe fill in on Krejci’s wing.
If “MoJo” remains on Krejci’s right wing, which seems more likely, I can imagine Cehlarik and Kuhlman will be playing alongside Coyle on the third line.
No matter the case, both these young players make Boston a better team. Keeping Nordstrom and Backes out of the lineup is key for the Bruins right now.
