What’s the best way to get over the New England Patriots Super Bowl 52 loss? Turn your attention to the Boston Bruins, who made a few announcements Monday Morning.
The Boston Bruins practiced Monday morning at the Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton, before heading on the road for a back-to-back against Original Six foes the Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers.
Anders Bjork (Upper Body) will remain out for the upcoming road trip, he has missed the last two games after leaving the game last Tuesday night against the Anaheim Ducks.
In a corresponding move, the team recalled forward Austin Czarnik from Providence, one day after reassigning him to the AHL. Czarnik suited up for the Bruins Saturday night against Toronto, and contributed an assist along with a +1 rating in the teams’ 4-1 victory.
With Brad Marchand set to return from his five game suspension on Wednesday night in New York, the sense is that this could be another one game stop for Czarnik.
Kevan Miller (Upper Body) and Noel Acciari (Lower Body) will also remain out, they are not expected to travel with the team to Detroit, but could join them in New York, according to Head Coach Bruce Cassidy.
Tuukka Rask and Anton Khudobin will split the back-to-back, Rask against the Red Wings and Khudobin against the Rangers.
Bergeron Tearing it Up
With his first period goal Saturday night against the Maple Leafs, Patrice Bergeron notched his 22nd of the season. That ties his fifth highest goal total of his career, Bergeron has been on fire recently, tallying 20 points (12-8-20) over his last 14 games.
