The Boston Bruins are unstoppable right now. 14-0-4 in their last 18, the B’s are on the verge of another slice of history tonight.
The problem is that they are playing the Anaheim Ducks, a proverbial banana skin of late. The Ducks have taken the last eight in this series, and have their key components back in the lineup.
I think the Bruins are past worrying that a team has had the better of them in recent fixtures. They are at a point, where they can play any team in this league and be confident of leaving with at least a point.
A point from tonight’s game moves them in front of the 1968-69 team that the current outfit is tied with. Moving them ever closer to the 23 consecutive point games of the1940-41 Boston Bruins.
Missing Two Key Figures
While there was good news yesterday in that Charlie McAvoy was back on the ice. He won’t be fit to return to the fold for at least another week. Meanwhile Bruins villain Brad Marchand has four more games in his ban.
Having two key players out against a team that has had the upper-hand over the black-and-gold in recent years should worry fans. But, it doesn’t does it? This team has depth and can cover for their stars.
Five Points Behind Tampa
The Boston Bruins are five points behind the NHL-leading Tampa Bay Lightning. The good news is that the B’s have two games in hand over their divisional rivals.
A win over the Ducks puts the B’s in prime position to breath down the necks of their Florida counterparts
New Duck, Adam Henrique
The former New Jersey Devil has been exceptional for the California outfit. He is currently on a five-game point streak. Scoring four goals and two assists in that time. In total he has 15 points in 25 games for the Ducks but expect that number to rise.

Prediction
I wouldn’t be shocked to see Torey Krug continue his current point-streak (1 goal, 5 assists) in the last six games.
This will be the Bruins toughest test of the run, especially if Rask is rested and Gibson returns for the Ducks. The Bruins would certainly fancy their chances of Miller.
Bruins to feel the loss of the McAvoy and Marchand tonight but keep the run going, falling in OT. 4-3 OT Ducks.
