BOSTON, MA - DECEMBER 10: Danton Heinen

The times they are a changin’, and so is the Boston Bruins roster, at least temporarily.  That and other NHL news for the day.

  • With the dud of a performance the Boston Bruins posted on Monday, the team made roster moves on Tuesday, calling up Danton Heinen and signing veteran forward Ryan White to a PTO contract.  Boston Herald
  • The Bruins continue to wait for Patrice Bergeron’s lower body injury to heal to the point he can return to the lineup.  It won’t be for today’s game, as the forward has already been ruled out for the game.  ESPN
  • Ty Anderson of WEEI has described the Bergeron injury perfectly:  a mystery.  WEEI
  • With the Bruins not having a game last night, we went and predicted who would win the 7 games last night.  We did a lot better than last Saturday.  Only game we got wrong last night was picking the Flyers over the Predators.  6-1…not too shabby.  Causeway Crowd Twitter

  • I’d be remiss in my duties if I didn’t start with this:  The Vegas Golden Knights are now 3-0-0, leading the Pacific Division, and are the first expansion team to start with 3 wins.  Oh, and as an organization, they knocked it out of the park with the ceremony to honor the victims of last week’s attack.  USA Today
  • Ken Hitchcock, with Dallas’ win over the Red Wings last night, tied Al Arbour for 3rd on the all-tome coaching wins list with 782 victories.  NHL
  • The Central Division is probably the toughest in the NHL, and the St. Louis Blues are attempting to stake their claim for the top spot.  It’s still early, but the Blues are 4-0-0, and Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko are on fire.  St. Louis Post-Dispatch
  • The Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins visited the White House yesterday.  Regardless of your politics, it was a simply awkward experience to watch.  CBC
  • Nolan Patrick, the #2 overall pick in the 2017 NHL draft, scored his first goal in a Philadelphia Flyers uniform last night.  Yahoo Sports
  • Many experts were doubting the Chicago Blackhawks before the season started.  Aftering scoring 15 goals in the first two games of the season, the team finds itself 3-0-1, and rookie sensation Alex DiBrincat recorded his first goal last night.  Second City Hockey
