Boston Bruins: Patrice Bergeron Heating Up At Right Time
With seven points in the last two games, Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron is heating up at just the right time for the Black and Gold.

Patrice Bergeron has had an underwhelming season so far. Bergeron was injured early in the season, and didn’t seem to be his usual self until recently.
The 31-year forward has gotten hot as of late. Bergeron had a four-point game in Bruins 6-3 over the San Jose Sharks. That gives him seven points in two games, and eleven points in the last five. Those eleven points are a third of Bergeron’s total output of 33 points this season.
The Boston Bruins find themselves back in the playoff hunt after Thursday night’s win. They kicked the Philadelphia Flyers out of the final wild card spot in the East. If the Bruins expect to hold onto it, they’ll need a little more heat from a player that in the past has defined the word ‘clutch’ for Boston.
Bergeron was happy with the 6-3 win. Still, he knows that the team has to continue to perform at that high level if the B’s are going to hold on to a playoff spot come April.
“I mean, after what happened a few days ago you have to look at yourself – everyone has to look at themselves in the mirror and realize we have to do better,” said the B’s alternate captain according to the Boston Bruins website. “It starts with one game. So, hopefully, we build from that and realize how we have to play the game and the intensity that we need.
“But, that being said, we can’t just rely on one game. It’s about moving forward and keep pushing and definitely using that game as an example of how we need to play.”
Seven points in two games. It looks like Bergeron is playing like his old self again. That’s just what the Bruins need as they head into the final quarter of the 2016-17 season.
