Boston Bruins Prospect Zachary Senyshyn Underwent Successful Surgery in Unlucky Offseason
Boston Bruins prospect Zachary Senyshyn has had some very bad luck lately. After missing the Bruins Development Camp in July due to mononucleosis, he’s also set to miss the Bruins rookie camp. The Bruins announced Monday that Senyshyn had underwent a successful appendectomy Sunday.
While this surgery will keep Senyshyn out of the Bruins rookie camp, he will report to the Bruins main training camp. After being taken with the Bruins third 1st round draft pick last season, many are longing to see Senyshyn’s development to this point in his career. Senyshyn broke out in a big way last season, and there’s no doubt he wants to continue his development trending in the same direction.

Boston could use someone like Sensyhyn on their team. Whether or not Senyshyn is NHL ready or not is hard to judge given his unavailability so far this offseason.
In 66 regular season games with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the OHL last season, Senyshyn scored 45 goals and 65 points. With his size, skill, and willingness to go to the dirty areas of the net, Senyshyn has a very high ceiling. It isn’t likely that Senyshyn will break the lineup this season, but he’s definitely a dark-horse entering training camp.
The Need for a Top-Line Right Winger
The Bruins have been in need of right wing options to skate alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand for years. The position has been a revolving door seemingly forever, but a consistent partner would do the team well. Bergeron and Marchand make up two-thirds of one of the best lines in the league very year; a solid final piece could make all the difference to put that line over the top.
Next: Bergeron and Marchand Skating Alongside Crosby at World Cup of Hockey
The NHL season is approaching quickly and it’s still unknown who will get first-team reps alongside Bergeron and Marchand. The Bruins top line is currently preparing for the World Cup of Hockey where they’re skating alongside Sidney Crosby. The Bruins will not find a better linemate than Crosby come game one of the regular season, but they shouldn’t give up on finding a good linemate altogether.
