Boston Bruins: David Krejci Weighs In On Jimmy Vesey

Boston Bruins forward David Krejci has gotten used to always having new wingmen.

David Krejci has not had the kind of luck Patrice Bergeron has had. While Bergeron has had Brad Marchand on his wing for the better part of five years, David Krejci has had to make do a constantly shifting set of wingmen these last few seasons. The last player he was really in sync with was Milan Lucic, who left the Boston Bruins for the Western Conference a few years ago.

The Boston Bruins have finally decided to weigh in on the whole Vesey Watch saga. Sadly, it’s been the most interesting thing that’s happened in Bruins hockey this offseason. (Unless you consider this summer’s installment of Bruins Bear Tracks, and compare all the players’ tractors.)

Bruins center David Krejci would have likely ended up being the center for Jimmy Vesey had he signed with Boston. When Krejci offered his opinion on the whole Vesey saga, he seemed more disappointed in the loss of Loui Eriksson (who was a solid winger for the Bruins, and certainly a more physical player than Jimmy Hayes was last season) than not seeing Vesey join the Bruins organization.

“I wasn’t really disappointed with that guy,” offered Krejci to the media according to CSNNE. com. Obviously I’d heard he was a good player, but he has to prove himself on the NHL level. I was more disappointed that we weren’t able to keep Loui. I felt like we had some good chemistry going. It was tough to see him go, but I’m getting kind of used to seeing my guys, my favorite guys, going away [like] Milan [Lucic], Nathan [Horton] and [Jarome] Iginla.
