The season may be over for the Boston Bruins but there is still some hockey left to play for the organization.  The Boston Bruins announced that they have sent players down to the AHL to help the Providence Bruins in their attempt to win the Calder Cup.

The Bruins assigned forwards Maxime Talbot, Frank Vatrano, and Noel Acciari to the AHL. The B’s also moved defenseman Colin Miller to Providence as well.  The P-Bruins were one of the hottest teams in scoring in the AHL this season. That they’re getting back so much talent will only help them stack the deck further.

The Bruins organization will certainly benefit from Vatrano, Acciari, and Miller heading down to the AHL. All three of them are relatively young players with limited professional playoff experience. It will certainly make those three more well-rounded players when it comes to training camp in September. (All three are expected to make the opening roster for training camp.)

The Providence Bruins are getting significant playoff experience from Max Talbot. Talbot has a Stanley Cup on his resume, and considerably more playoff experience than any other member of the team. No matter where he ends up next season, he’s become a positive all-around asset for the Bruins organization. Talbot had a decent run for both Bruins teams this year, scoring seven points (two goals) for Boston, and 20 points(nine goals) in Providence.

“I don’t know what’s in the books for me, so I’ll just be getting ready, working out and trying to earn another contract with an NHL team,” said Talbot about his future. “My personality is always happy-go-lucky and glass half-full, and I think that good things come to good people. If you do the right things then the karma will be good to you.

“I’m ready for both scenarios, going to [Providence] or not. Then I’m going to look at the options and go with it. I know I can still play in this league given the opportunity, and I’d love to have another shot somewhere.”
