The Boston Bruins will be taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets as the Bruins try for their third win in their most recent road trip. The Bruins have gone 2-1 in the first three games, and 1-1 without their most reliable player and alternate captain Patrice Bergeron.

The Bruins had stated that Bergeron is a game time decision for tonight’s match against Columbus. Bergeron is still the B’s most reliable offensive weapon, having put in 47 points in 54 games.
The Bruins have also announced that defenseman Adam McQuaid will be back in action against Columbus tonight. McQuaid has missed the last 18 games since getting an upper body (likely a concussion) injury when the Bruins played the Washington Capitals back on January 5. McQuaid was certainly missed by the Black and Gold in his absence. McQuaid has appeared in 38 games for the Bruins this season with six points (one goal) and has earned a +6 rating.
The Bruins also chose to move Colin Miller down to the Providence Bruins. Miller has played in 39 games this season, and has put up 15 points (three goals) for Boston. The Boston Globe’s Fluto Shinzawa offers the best response to why the Bruins chose to move him.
This did surprise a lot of Bruins fans, as they had believed that the wrong Miller had been sent down to Providence. Kevin Miller has been a bit of a mess lately, and the fans were scratching their heads on this current move. The problem is that Colin Miller won’t face the waiver wire, and the B’s front office is concerned that another team might actually want Kevan Miller. So, we’ll need to put up with a little more ‘Miller Filler’ in the short term. However, if Miller ends up going -2 while giving up a gift goal to Columbus, you know the Bruins fan base will be incensed.
