“It’s big.” David Krejci said of Loui Eriksson‘s career milestone. “That’s a big number, actually. There’s not many guys in the league that have 200 goals. He’s had a good career so far, so hopefully he can keep it up and put some more goals in the net.”

Loui Eriksson has had success throughout his career as a goal scorer, most prominently during his time spent with the Dallas Stars. The veteran Swedish winger now ranks third on the Bruins in goals with 18 as well as second on the team in points with 43. After struggling with injuries throughout his first two seasons with the Bruins, Loui Eriksson is seemingly healthy and ready to put his past unlucky spell of injuries behind him. Only two players on the Boston Bruins have played in all of the teams 55 games this season, including Loui Eriksson, as well as Ryan Spooner.
Despite his time spent injured, Loui Eriksson has still managed to be productive in a Bruins uniform, scoring 50 goals in 197 games.
Puck Prose
After going through a bit of a goal scoring drought, Loui Eriksson has seemingly found his stride as a goal scorer once again. Eriksson went nine games without finding the back of the net, and only providing four points total in that time. Over the last three games, however, Eriksson has scored twice and has recorded three points. Claude Julien shuffled his teams’ lineup recently by putting Loui Eriksson on the third line, but that hasn’t seemed to slow down his compete level at all. While it’s unclear if Loui Eriksson will be a member of the Boston Bruins following the February 29th NHL Trade Deadline, it’s clear that Eriksson will need to play to the best of his ability to help the Bruins in either possible scenario.
The Boston Bruins offense has been more-than solid this season through 55 games, and Loui Eriksson has been a big part of their success. If the Bruins want to succeed this season, they will certainly need Eriksson to continue performing at such a high level. If they do decide to trade him, the return that the Bruins’ can acquire for him will only be diminished if Eriksson falls into another minor slump.
Next: Where Should Ryan Spooner Play?
Whether or not Eriksson will be traded is unclear, but what is clear is the fact that Loui Eriksson should be proud of the career milestone he accomplished against the Wild.
