It looks like Brad Marchand is taking a page out of a book of his fellow Boston Bruins. The Boston Bruins best pest has been engaging in charitable work this summer, and he’s lent his name and his personality to help out the organization NoticeAbility. This organization helps people with dyslexia through alternative methods of learning. The Bruins forward is doing what he can to help people with this particular learning disability achieve their dreams.

When you put Boston Bruins and philanthropy together, one usually thinks of Patrice Bergeron or ex-Bruin Shawn Thornton. But Brad Marchand works with multiple charities, both within and outside the Bruins. He’s part of Make-A-Wish Atlantic Provinces Canada, helping sick children have their special wishes come true. He also runs Brad’s Brigade as part of the Bruins. He helps children with pediatric cancer and their families have a great night out watching the Bruins play at the TD Garden.
Brad Marchand has been trying to clean up his act on and off the ice. He’s made solid strides in becoming a better all-around player for the Bruins, and has certainly cut back on his sloppy penalties. While he’s still occasionally caught drunk, shirtless, and channeling his inner Tyler Seguin, he’s made positive strides off the field as well. Marchand is now taking that attitude to his philanthropy.
“With anything that you want to achieve in life, you have to do that consistently and want to try to improve,” said Marchand. “I don’t think there’s anything that you can just pick up and become instantly perfect at it or instantly great. It’s something you have to repeatedly do and try to perfect. Perfection is pretty much impossible but you can always strive to be perfect and there’s always a way to improve and get better. That’s something that you can really take to heart and try to do with anything in life whether that’s be an athlete or a singer or a professor or a family man. It’s always about being better.”
