NBC, the national television rights holder of the NHL in the United States, released their 2015-16 NHL television schedule last week, and the Boston Bruins will play in 12 of the network’s nationally televised games.
Between NBC and NBCSN, the networks will air 105 NHL games next season, two more than last season. The first nationally viewed game will be on NBCSN Oct. 7 with the Rangers taking on the Blackhawks (8 p.m. ET). NBC’s first NHL game of the season doesn’t air until the Thanksgiving Showdown on Nov. 27 with the Rangers playing the Bruins at the TD Garden (1 p.m.).
The most anticipated nationally televised game for the Bruins is the annual Winter Classic (Jan. 1), hosted by the team at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. Other notable games in the national spotlight include Connor McDavid and the Oilers traveling to play Jack Eichel in Buffalo on Mar. 1 (7:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN).
Boston will also be featured in six “Wednesday Night Rivalry” games on NBCSN. The first tilt is against the Flyers on Oct. 21. Bellow is a complete rivalry night listing.
