This will be the Black and Gold’s second appearance at a Winter Classic. They previously played in Fenway Park back in 2010, where they beat the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 in overtime. While the roster has certainly changed from 2010, there are a few Bruins who remember their first time at the Winter Classic and look forward to recapturing some of that magic. Bruins forward and alternate captain Patrice Bergeron is eager to take part, especially against the Canadiens.
“I had a chance to be part of the Winter Classic in 2010 and it was a great experience,” Bergeron said back in January. “And to have it against a big rival with big history between the two teams is definitely going to be something that I’ll be looking forward to.”

“This is rivalry is special, it’s intense, it’s exciting and it’s really great that the Kraft family and the Patriots are making arrangements so that we can play at Gillette,” said NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman. “This is going to be a huge deal and we believed fans from all over, not just from Boston, are going to be very excited about this. The Bruins are a great team, a great organization and we know that Boston, because of their presence, is going to do very well with this game.”
Hopefully, the Bruins will be announcing when the tickets will be going on sale. It will certainly be one of the hottest events outside the Stanley Cup Final this year. It would be nice to see the Bruins as the first team in the league with two wins in Winter Classic competition.
