With a SO loss to the trailing Florida Panthers, the postseason drive got a little more challenging for the Boston Bruins. Although they are still holding onto a wild card spot, the Ottawa Senators won in regulation to bring their lead to a very narrow, one-point margin. Not to mention, the Senators have a game in hand. The good news is, the falling Detroit Red Wings are only three points ahead of the B’s and the Washington Capitals are only four points ahead, so they are not out of reach.
With only a handful of games left in the regular season, the Bruins need to take most of the points to continue playing into the postseason.
Tampa Bay Lighting
Their first stop on the final stretch of the season is against Tampa Bay later today at 5pm EST. The B’s have had good luck against the Lightning, winning both of their previous meetings this season 4-3 and 3-2. However, they have been eventful games to say the least. With David Krejci a possibility to play in the game and Reilly Smith a recent scratch, the final forward spot is still up in the air. The teams will meet again on the last game of the regular season.

The Bruins will host the Ducks for their second and final matchup of the season on Thursday March 26th at 7pm EST. Although the B’s fell to the Ducks during their last meeting, they gave good effort and showed some promise against a powerful team. The Ducks are currently on top of the Western Conference so this is sure to be a challenging game. The Bruins will need to step up their game to take the two points.
New York Rangers
On Saturday Mar 28th at 1pm EST, the Bruins will host the Rangers for their last matchup this season. So far, the series is tied at a game a piece. With the Rangers sitting atop the Eastern Conference, the Bruins will again have to step up their game to come out with two points.
Overall, the Bruins have to make some changes to secure their spot in the postseason. They have the potential to be a strong and game-changing team, but unless they improve their overall game it will not happen. I am confident in their ability to up their game and make it to the playoffs.
