Ferlin & Spooner

Although their future with the Bruins has yet to be seen, Brian Ferlin and Ryan Spooner have both made some great contributions to the team over the last few games.

Ferlin is the type of player that the Bruins organization looks for in a bottom-six forward. He is a big body who is not afraid of two-way hockey. Although he has only contributed one point in his five NHL games, he has been a positive attribute to the 4th line that has struggled throughout the entire season.

Spooner has speed, can handle the puck and has upped his game over the past few seasons. Although he still doesn’t play the way that is expected of a Bruins player, he has brought energy to the team and really stepped up in the absence of top center, David Krejci. The combination of Pastrnak and Spooner has worked really well. Add in veteran forward – and big body – Milan Lucic and this line has been pretty successful. Not to mention, Spooner’s first NHL goal came at a pretty crucial moment.

Jordan Caron is overall useless – oh wait, they got rid of him. FINALLY!

The fate of Ferlin and Spooner lies in the hands of the leadership staff. With the new additions to the team, they might be sent back down to Providence, but having these two players in the lineup the past few games has been positive and has hopefully given the team some hope on holding a post-season spot.
