Team-Play
One thing that the Bruins seemed to lack early on in the season is teamwork and unity. With the loss of a few leaders in the locker room – Iginla, Thornton and Boychuk – the B’s looked lost and out of sync. Not only did this cause a lack of production, but too many penalties and a negative atmosphere.
Over the past few weeks, the Bruins have proven their loyalty to one another and boosted their team-play. This has directly impacted their production and positive record. One of the ways that the Bruins have portrayed their team-play is by dropping the gloves to protect their own.
During the game against Tampa Bay Lightning on January 13th, multiple players threw some punches in support of their teammates. Chara displayed his leadership by dropping Lighting forward Cedric Paquette, not once, but twice with a single punch. Lucic and Kelly have also picked up their physical game to support their linemates and make an impact on and off the ice. If that’s not teamwork than I don’t know what is. If the B’s continue to work together to produce goals they will continue moving forward in their quest for a postseason spot.
