For Tuukka Rask’s first 30 games of the season he had a 15-10-5 record. Not exactly what you would expect from last years’ Vezina Trophy winner. With multiple key defenseman injured, Tuukka had to rely on some young players to help stop the puck from landing in his net. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough and Tuukka really fell off his game.

This turned around significantly in the new year. For the past 13 games, Tuukka has tallied an 8-3-2 record. He has made some key plays, incredible saves and been an ace in between the pipes. Currently in the second half of the season, Tuukka has turned his game around at a crucial time and is leading his team to a post-season appearance. Even his teammates are giving him praise for his recent performance increase. “We’re grateful to have a guy like that between the pipes. You’ve got to give him all the credit in the world with how he’s been able to play this January, and he’s starting to get into the groove that we need him to be in.” Milan Lucic said
