“Just because you’re winning doesn’t mean you’re at your best. “-Claude Julien
Tonight the Boston Bruins are back at the Garden gearing up to take on the LA Kings, the reigning Stanley Cup Champions. The Bruins are fresh off of a 5-2 victory against the New York Islanders and are hoping to continue building consistency.
With a hot month of January to place the Bruins comfortably ahead of the Panthers in the playoff race, Claude Julien warns them not too get too comfortable.
“The one thing we can’t afford to do is to get too comfortable,”Julien told CSNNE. “The reason I’m saying that is certainly not because of the cliché, but more that I still see a lot of areas we have to continue to improve to become a better team. Just because you’re winning doesn’t mean you’re at your best. “
Last game we saw some different line combinations being tried out with Loui Eriksson alongside Patrice Bergeon and tonight we’ll also see Jordan Caron in place of Craig Cunningham.
“He’s proven to us that he’s very capable of playing for us in all situations. He’s been a good power-play guy for us, and he’s also been great on the penalty kill. He’s reliable for us in those last few minutes. He’s a smart, smart player,” said Claude Julien of Eriksson.
Tonight’s game should be one of speed and integrity, facing one of the top teams of the Western Conference, providing a high entertainment factor. For places to watch or listen, we’ve got you covered:

Bold Prediction:
Okay, I’m 0-2 on making bold predictions so I asked a good friend of mine to help me out with this one. He seems to think the Bruins and Kings are going to play a tight game and go 2-2 needing a final shoot-out to determine a victor. Honestly, I can agree with that and here’s why;
More from Bruins News
- Bruins release Prospects Challenge roster, schedule Tuesday
- Bruins bringing back familiar forward on tryout contract
- The Bruins should take a look at these four free agents
- NHL Network lists Ullmark as sixth-best goalie in the league
- The Lasting Legacy of David Krejci
The Bruins are still trying to find their A-game and put their best efforts on the table while the Kings are one of the hottest teams in the National Hockey League at this point in time. With the added boost from Eriksson offensively alongside Bergeron and Marchand and Reilly Smith showing his worth alongside his new teammates, the Bruins are headed down the right path. They know it is crunch time, they know what they need to do and what teams lie ahead and are obstacles for them to achieve their goal.
