It looks like the Boston Bruins are going to be looking internally in order to solve their problem with scoring. Earlier this morning, Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced that the Black and Gold have recalled forward David Pastrnak back from the team’s AHL affiliate Providence Bruins. Chiarelli also stated that Pastrnak will join the team for practice today at TD Garden and travel with the team to Pennsylvania as they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins tomorrow night.

There was speculation that the Bruins were going to return Pastrnak back to the AHL after he was done representing the Czech Republic in the World Juniors. He’s had a very good run in Providence this season. Pastranak has played in twenty-four games with the Baby Bruins, and has already began to make his mark there. So far this season, the eighteen year old Pastrnak has put up twenty seven points(ten goals) for Providence, with a +14. He currently leads the P-Bruins in goals and points, and is second in assists behind fellow occasional call up Alexander Khohlachev.
The Bruins can use Pastrnak for four more games this season without repercussions. After that, if the Bruins wish to continue to use him, they’ll burn a year off his entry-level contract.
